Bathtub Refinishing in Mesquite Texas
Bathtub refinishing also called bathtub reglazing or bathtub resurfacing can save you thousands of dollars versus bathtub replacement! To replace a bathtub or shower is a costly project. Bathtubs have a lip around the flange that goes behind the tile that surrounds the tub. In order to remove the tub this tile will need to come down and if you have ever tried to match tile you understand how difficult this can be. We will chemically bond a new surface to the old bathtub, tile, shower or vanity surface saving you thousands of dollars in replacement cost! Additional benefit will be how fast the refinishing can usually be completed and returned to service the day after completion! You will find that as an owner operated business I complete all work myself. This means you only have one person coming to your home to work, instead of a crew of different people and most jobs are completed in only a few hours!

The fluoropolymer polyester surface was bonded with Silane coupling agent. Low Voc and polyester does not emit further V.O.C.'s after cured making it harmless to indoor air quality!
The customer should expect about 15 years from this surface and could easily go over 20 years or longer if cared for! Please See my main site and get a free quote by phone Johnny Yarbrough 972-391-7994 Dallas Bathtub Refinishing Services |
What Is Included?
<<Dallas Bathtub Refinishing Services>>
- Chemical wash to dissolve and remove soap and oil residue. NO Methylene Chloride - That is a product that is very toxic and actually found in paint strippers that was used to strip the old epoxy paint off bathtubs and tile. I do not use it and have not bought it since 1995.
- Etching of the old surface. No Hydroflouric Acid which was sold with the old epoxy paint to etch into porcelain.... Those days are LONG GONE!
- Molecular bonding agent using nano technology using silane to create a chemical weld between the old and new surface (used in the Dental industry when bonding to porcelain also used in the Aerospace industry). Hand rubbed into the pores that were opened through the etching process. This allows the bonding agent to not only bond on the surface level but to penetrate the pores and bond beneath the surface!
- (9-12) coats of multi resin copolymer coating with the correct additives customized to the surface it is being applied to closer to a plastic than paint. It is like getting a spray in tub liner that looks and feels like porcelain.
- The final result is a gorgeous, like new bathtub, tile or shower surface! Limited (2) year transferable warranty included. (Not an add on sale like other refinishers)
- You now have a permanent fix to the worn, discolored or damaged surface with a realistic life expectancy of over 20 years!! (That is the same as a New Porcelain Bathtub!!)
- Re caulking is included. There is nothing else to buy! It takes less than a day to complete in 99% of the cases and will always be ready for use the very next day!!

Mesquite Bathtub Refinishing
Let's get it done right the first time!! Bathtub, Shower, Tile Refinishing is my specialty!. So many times I am called when someone has painted their bathtub or tile with a d.i.y. epoxy paint kit. I understand, on the surface (no pun intended) it seems as it simply painting a bathtub is all there is to it. You may be thinking $40 kit along with a few hours of time and even if it's not perfect, with the shower curtain it wont be a big deal. It is not that easy, even with professional chemicals and coatings it is not that easy. You see the steps I use above. Did you also know I have bought coating from virtually every supplier in the Industry? I did not do that because I was shopping for prices, I was shopping for quality! There is a huge difference. The silane bonding agent is another tried and true chemical. I have bought from 3 top suppliers and tested adhesion test in my garage on porcelain tile. There is a difference! So drastic that I have now bought from the same supplier since 2017! It happens to be more expensive and it works!

What kind of surfaces can be refinished?
- Porcelain bathtub refinishing is accomplished using a multi resin polymer formula and synergistic restoration procedures For an extremely hard surface.
- Fiberglass bathtub refinishing is a slightly different mixture in the base product. Fiberglass resin is more dominant so the resins can melt together to integrate the old and new surface.
- Acrylic Bathtub refinishing will be accomplished a lot like the fiberglass. On these types of surfaces we want a good looking durable surface but we must keep in mind these surfaces tend to 'give' when stressed.
- Cultured marble is actually crushed limestone and fiberglass resin that is manipulated into a mold and allowed to cure. then coated with gel coating. On this surface I can definitely upgrade the surface 10 times stronger so it never gets the surface cracks cultured marble is known for. This too will be a strong mixture of fiberglass resin to melt into any cracks and then coated so the resin integrates into the old fiberglass resin, This will cure very quick and then a mixture of fiberglass resin and poly glass added into the base product will be chemically welded into the old surface creating a gorgeous porcelain looking bathtub.
Bathtub Refinishing Near Me In Dallas TX
Mesquite TX Bathtub refinishing using a multi resin polymer coating. This is the process that goes deeper (literally) then other refinishers that simply paint a bathtub with standard epoxy paint or glue a new surface onto the old. The molecular bonding agent etches into the old surface exposing pores and leaving behind microscopic scratches. I then apply another coat of molecular bonding agent with nano technology on the old surface and hand rub it so it then goes into the old surface filling in those exposed pores and microscopic scratches left behind by etching. Silane molecular bonding agent is then applied. This is the same bonding agent dentist use for bonding porcelain. The next step is to apply (9) coats of fluoropolymer finish coat that begins with the first 2 - 3 coats melting into the bonding agent that was penetrated into the old surface. I will then allow between 20 - 40 minutes for that to set up so I can wet sand the entire surface, dry it off and clean it with a quick drying chemical cleaning agent. This is followed by another coat of the molecular bonding agent, which will now melt into the new surface. The process is completed by applying 6 - 7 more coats of 100% polyester fluoropolymer coating at specific intervals so they then melt into the bonding agent and from there into each other. The end result Is a New surface that is chemically bonded to the fixture.
Is This Process considered Bathtub Refinishing?
Actually the liquid porcelain enamel Process is True Bathtub Refinishing. The problem with the word refinishing is it is not given a specific label. For example, when an automotive shop sands and paints a damaged fender they are refinishing that fender. Then either out of ignorance, half truth or just an out right misconception the makers of the Epoxy paint kits labeled them D.I.Y. refinishing. This is why in our Industry you will hear the terms Bathtub refinishing, Bathtub Resurfacing and Bathtub Reglazing. They are all the same process, they mean the same thing. Knowledgeable bathtub, tile and shower refinishing professionals simply tried to give the process a specific name and out of that 3 names were born! This was further complicated by the fact that up until 2003 all we really had to choose from was Epoxy paint. However, those of us that refinished back in that time would etch the surface using a very strong acid, then spray an epoxy primer, then finish with a gloss epoxy paint. This was usually only done for Apartments and Hotels because the odor would linger for days.
How is today's process different from Epoxy Paint?
Today's true bathtub refinishing professional would NEVER use Epoxy paint on a bathtub. It would be equivalent to using a 1990's era computer in today's offices. The technology has changed tremendously! Our Industry has made huge steps forward in formulating a coating that so closely mimics baked on porcelain that simply could not tell the difference unless you knew it was refinished. The Bathtub refinishing Industry has specialized coatings for Porcelain / Cast Iron / Formica / cultured Marble / Acrylic Bathtubs and Fiberglass Bathtubs. The advancement of the coatings also coupled with the advancement of molecular bonding agents is not even in the same ball park as Epoxy paint. See the issues with epoxy paint that made those of us that actually cared about our profession yell for help were numerous. Epoxy had a dull finish, Epoxy would yellow when bleach was used on it, Epoxy would dry so brittle it would crack and flake if used on a fiberglass surface that naturally flexed under use. Epoxy would stink for about 2 days after refinishing! In fact Back then if it was an occupied Home we had waivers signed that advised the residents to vacate for 24 hours! I know this because I have been refinishing since 1991. Yes, I too have used Epoxy paint because it was literally the only choice. So you have to ask yourself ..... does anyone still use Epoxy? Yes, I see it several times a month. Why? What is the root of all evil.... The LOVE of Money. Quality materials, makes all of the difference! In most cases I can have your bathtub, shower or tile surface ready for use by 7am the following morning! Dallas Bathtub Services
